CBI questions CBDT officials

NEW DELHI JUNE 6. As part of its ongoing probe into the transfer-for-cash scam involving the personal assistant of the former Minister of State for Finance, Gingee Ramachandran, the CBI today examined two senior members of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

Sources told The Hindu that the two CBDT members were examinedon the transfer policy pertaining to the Income Tax and Indian Revenue Service officers.

Meanwhile, several leads are being followed by the CBI which have come up during the custodial interrogation of the Chennai-based chartered accountant, Ramachandran, the personal assistant of the Minister, Perumalswamy, and the IRS officer, Anurag Vardhan, . The agency has not ruled out interrogation of Mr. Gingee Ramachandran. As a preliminary exercise even a questionnaire could be sent to him..
