Star Sports, ESPN blacked out

CHENNAI JUNE 6. Two premium sports pay channels, Star Sports and ESPN, were blacked out for nearly half an hour for cable subscribers in select locations in the city tonight.

According to viewers, the channels went off air and were replaced with a scroll which read that the channels were being discontinued as the multisystem operator had defaulted on payment. However, the service resumed within half an hour.

The senior executives of the MSO, Hathway, could not be reached for comments.
