By Our Staff Reporter
A press note here said Zakir Hussain (28) of Royapettah, Nizamuddin (25) and Abdul Qadir (20) of Thanjavur were taken into custody late last year at Kodungaiyur. Explosive materials were also seized from them. The case was later transferred to the Special Investigation Team, SB-CID for further investigations and it was revealed that they were members of the MDF. The three planned to destroy Hindu temples, monuments and eliminate Hindu leaders and were also found to have links with Muslim extremist organisations abroad. They also planned to cause destruction with the help of financial assistance from overseas, the release said.
