dated June 10, 1953: Official Frown at Dare-devil Feat

A 61-year-old veteran of World War I, Major Christopher Draper (called `Mad Major') flew a light aeroplane under 15 bridges of the river Thames in London, staying barely above the surface of the water — to prove that he was still fit enough to work and fly.

Summons were delivered to him from court, charging him with "flying in a manner to cause unnecessary danger to persons and property".
