According to reports, over 500 people were admitted to the hospital with the complaint from Koilkuntla town alone. The heavy rush led to shortage of IV fluids and other emergency medicines. On Monday 115 fresh cases were reported. Yesterday, 190 cases were treated and the previous day 257 people turned up for treatment. Cases were reported from Bijinavemula, Velagatur in Koilkuntla mandal, Mudigedu, Reddipalli and R. Lingam Dinne in Sanjamala mandal. The exact cause of the outbreak of the disease could not be pinpointed. The medical teams which tested the water samples did not found any thing abnormal. Food contamination or excessive heat were believed to be the cause of the disease outbreak. Meanwhile, the drinking water sources and wells in the area were chlorinated on a war-footing. No deaths were reported so far.
