Govt. to go ahead with recruitment drive

RANCHI JUNE 9. Despite the ongoing agitation by the pro-domicile forces, the BJP-led NDA government in Jharkhand has decided to go ahead with the recruitment drive to fill up the vacancies in various departments in phases.

After completion of the recruitment test of about 10,000 primary teachers which witnessed largescale violence on May 27 in the capital town, the Government was now contemplating to recruit about as many police personnel in the state, Chief Minister Arjun Munda told reporters in Jamshedpur yesterday.

The government was going ahead with the recuitment drive to fulfill its promises to provide employment to the educated youths, he said.

The pro-domicile forces have been demanding that the domicile issue must be redefined and solved before organising any recruitment drive.

The Chief Minister had reiterated that the people, who were living in the state and accepted its culture and language, were the ``Jharkhandis''.

Mr Munda warned that nobody would be allowed to take up law in their hand and anybody preventing the teachers from joining their duty would be dealt firmly.

Denying any threat to his government he said members of the state BJP were united and there was no differences of opinion among them and added the constituent units of the NDA government were with the government.

The Government would hold the panchayat election in any circumstances, he said. - UNI
