Holding that the present government and the assembly comprised members elected for the erstwhile Bihar assembly, the Front asked members to seek a fresh mandate to govern this nascent state, the Front opined. The leaders later called on the Governor to submit a memorandum demanding immediate dismissal of the government, which it dubbed as ``anti-tribal and anti-moolwasi'' (original inhabitants). The Front's march to the Raj Bhawan was led by Jharkhand Vikas Dal president Suraj Mandal and Jharkhand Party (Horo) president N E Horo. They also urged Governor Justice (retd) M Rama Jois to press the state government to announce its policy defining locals besides ensuring recruitment of locals in class three and four government jobs. They also called upon the governor was urged to direct the government to withdraw cases lodged against adivasi and moolwasi activists who had been striving for their `genuine' cause and also unconditional release of those arrested in connection with the two-day statewide bandh from May 26 on the locals issue. The Front has demanded Rs ten lakh compensation for the family of those killed in the recent agitation over the issue of local residents. It has called for a high level inquiry into the conduct of police officials who allegedly tried to vitiate communal harmony by levelling baseless allegations against Christian missionaries. - UNI
