In an informal chat with the presspersons, the Vice President (Sales and Marketing), Ceat, Kalyan K. Paul, said the location for the new radial tyre unit for truck had not been finalised. The company was planning to expand the existing capacity of radial tyres for passenger vehicles to one lakh from 35,000 units. It would invest Rs. 75-80 crores. The company had achieved a turnover of Rs. 1,498 crores last year. The company was targeting a turnover of Rs. 1,800 crores during the current year. The majority of growth during the current year was expected from non-truck segment.
