A portrait of Ramana Maharishi, presented by the Ramanasramam, Tiruvannamalai, was unveiled by Ramanada on the occasion. The Kendra president, R.Venkatakrishnan, explained the activities of the kendra, which included spiritual discourse on Ramana's teachings and philosophy every Sunday and music concerts. The vice-president, S. Ram Mohan, who traced the history of the kendra, recalled the efforts of K. Swaminathan and B. Ananthaswami, in setting up the kendra.
