Body of missing Kerala Councillor found

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI JUNE 9. Relatives and friends of Sebastian Pratap, the CPI (M) Councillor from Kerala, who was reported missing since March 26, today confirmed that a body, which was exhumed at Thiruvallur today, was that of the Councillor.

The body was exhumed in presence of revenue officials and a team of doctors who also conducted tests at the spot.

The Police officials said though relatives had identified the body, positive confirmation would be possible only after DNA and superimposing tests were completed. They said that no visible marks of injury could be traced on the body, which was in a highly decomposed state.

The police teams have gone to different places in the city and Kerala to conduct investigations. The Councillor who came to his sister's house in Peter's Colony in the city on March 25, was reported missing the next day.
