Action against illegal scan centres

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM June 9. The functioning of unauthorised scan centres, which might be aiding the selective elimination of female foetuses, will be restricted, the Health Minister, P. Sankaran, has said.

Inaugurating the third phase of the State-level family health awareness programme here today, he said steps were being taken to improve the facilities in at all health centres in the State, including Medical Colleges. Steps would also be taken to make available specialist doctors at Medical Colleges.
