The CPI (M) wrested the Nabadwip (SC) Parliamentary seat in Nadia district from the Trinamool and also retained the Vidyasagar Assembly constituency, upsetting the applecart of the Congress by 22,829 votes. Meanwhile, the Congress today bagged all the three Assembly seats Bharmour, Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh, elections for which were held on June 8, while the BJP bit the dust in all the 3 seats.
