``During his visit, the Prime Minister will hold official talks with the Premier, Wen Jiabao, and will have separate meetings with their Excellencies, the President, Hu Jintao, the Chairman, Jiang Zemin, of the Central Military Commission, the Chairman, Wu Bangguo, of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the Vice-President, Zeng Qinghong, of the People's Republic of China,'' an official statement said. Pointing out that Mr. Vajpayee's visit to China will be the first by an Indian Prime Minister after a gap of 10 years, the statement said it was part of the "renewed process'' of high-level exchanges between India and China that was initiated in May-June 2000 by the visit of the then President, K.R. Narayanan. ``The (Vajpayee) visit is expected to contribute to developing trust, understanding and confidence between India and the People's Republic of China,'' it said. According to the statement, the Prime Minister was expected to hold discussions with the new Chinese leadership. "A number of agreements/memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed during the visit.'' ``A high-level delegation of Indian business and industry will visit China in conjunction with the Prime Minister's visit".
