Maruti opens public offer

New Delhi June 12. The Maruti Udyog Limited today opened its maiden public issue with a big bang as investors led to a near 10 per cent oversubscription on day one, raising Government's hopes about issues of other PSUs such as NALCO and Bharat Petroleum.

Against the offer of 7.2 crore shares with a face value of Rs. 5 each, the MUL received an overwhelming response with bids of 7.89 crore shares of which over 85 per cent were at Rs. 120 a share or higher. — PTI
