J&K plans bill to check entry of HIV-infected tourists

SRINAGAR JUNE 14. The Jammu and Kashmir Government is planning to move a bill in the Assembly to prevent the entry of HIV-infected tourists into the State, to stem the rise in the number of AIDS patients now put at over 24,000.

The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Chowdary Lal Singh, speaking on the demand for the grants for his Ministry in the Assembly, said there was need to check the menace at all levels.

He announced the setting up of a dental college in Jammu and a post-graduate course in psychiatry.
