MLA held for murder

HYDERABAD June 15. A Congress MLA from Andhra Pradesh, C. K. Jayachandra Reddy, alias, C. K. Babu, was arrested on Sunday on charges of torching a youth to death. Police said the Chittoor legislator was being interrogated for the killing of Ravi Shankar (21), son of a TDP leader, Rajeshwari, last night.

The incident was a sequel to an altercation between the MLA's nephew and Ravi Shankar. Mr. Babu is accused of abducting the latter, pouring kerosene and setting him ablaze at a desolate place.
