Andhra Pradesh
By Our Special Correspondent
Deviating from the earlier practice of focusing on one issue in the 30-minute programme, Mr. Naidu volunteered to answer questions on a wide range of individual and community needs and problems. The names of the callers were flashed on the screen even as the Chief Minister gave them a patient hearing. A TDP activist from Khammam district, Ramesh, who devoted "my entire time'' for the party, pleaded with Mr. Naidu that he deserved a house under the weaker sections housing programme. The Chief Minister said the request would receive due consideration. Complaints about the FFW programme came from Adilabad, Nalgonda and other places with the callers making specific charges against sarpanches. Reacting to a complaint from Padma of Bodhan (Nizamabad district) against executive engineer of R & B, he said action would be taken if the official was found guilty. Rajni Kant from Narasampet protested that middlemen were knocking away the house sites and houses meant for the poor.
