"They are looking for an excuse to malign us, or to target me personally," he was quoted as saying by Indus TV, referring to the criticism in India of his remarks on Kargil in an interview with NDTV. Elaborating further, he said, "I only said that if we don't resolve this (Kashmir) anything can happen. Why are they pinning it on me as though I am going to do something. I am not going to do anything". What he said was not an aggressive statement but a statement of fact, the General pointed out. At the same time, he said there was no guarantee that both India and Pakistan would not go to a fourth war in the future. "We have fought three wars in the past, so what is the guarantee in the future there won't be any further action. That is not an aggressive statement, it is a statement of fact." PTI
