'Troops ready to go to Iraq'

New Delhi June 18. The Army tonight said it was ``absolutely prepared'' to operate in Iraq but under its command and flag as part of the stabilisation force, should the Indian Government decide to send its troops to the war-ravaged country.

``We are always prepared, but the decision of sending the troops to Iraq rests with the Government which is examining the issue,'' Kamal Davar, Director-General of the Defence Intelligence Agency.
