Rescuers pulled 13 other injured people, including a teacher, out of the building following the explosion early today. in the city of Kayseri, 770 km southeast of Istanbul, official sources said. A total of 23 persons had been inside the building. "Unfortunately 10 students were killed," Gov. Nihat Canpolat said on private NTV television. ``Thirteen others were injured. Two are in serious condition.'' A gas canister had likely exploded in the kitchen, causing the building's collapse, sources said. Officials said the students were staying at the dormitory as they took a course on the Quran. Some had arrived recently. In May, a dormitory in eastern Turkey collapsed in a magnitude 6.4 earthquake, killing 84 students. Critics blamed the building's collapse on shoddy construction.
