Initiating the interactive meeting organised by the Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) with the officials of the KSEB, the Pollution Control Board and the Electrical Inspectorate here today, he said, "this is a bad trend and should be changed for the State to surge ahead in development." He said the Government was taking steps in this regard and the hurdles were many and it should be crossed. The Global Investor Meet (GIM) had proved that Kerala could have a development agenda. He said the thinking of the need for a development agenda in the State was getting stronger. The Government should implement all development projects. Using Government funds was getting changed day-by-day. The people had started realising that different agencies had to be roped in, he said. Without naming any projects that has created controversy in the State, the Industries Minister said non-issues were being projected and taken up in the State wasting valuable time.
The Secretary, Industries, P. H. Kurien, the Principal Secretary, Industries, John Mathai, the Chairman of the KSEB, T. M. Manoharan, the Chairman of the PCB, Paul Thachil, and the Chief Electrical Inspector, M. G. Rajagopal, the General Manager of K-Bip, V. Rajagopal, were among those who attended.
The CII representative, Jaytilakan, in his interaction, demanded time-bound power connection to the industries, friendly attitude from the KSEB, incentives to industries and introduction of bank guarantee instead of bank deposit for power connection.
