'Double agent' granted bail
LOS ANGELES: A millionaire socialite accused of using her sexual affairs with FBI counter-intelligence agents to spy on the U.S. for China was granted bail of two million dollars. Chinese-American Katrina Leung who has been dubbed a modern-day Mata Hari by media has been held without bail since her arrest on suspicion of being a double agent more than two months ago. While setting bail on Thursday, U.S. District Judge, Florence-Marie Cooper, however ordered, Ms. Leung (49), confined to her home except for meetings with her lawyers or to go to court. She must also wear an electronic monitoring bracelet. But the accused double agent's lawyer, Janet Levine, said it could take a couple of weeks for her client to raise the large some of money that will set her free.
