A spokesperson has said that the notification inviting applications for medical, dental, and engineering courses clearly mentions that merit-based selections for admission through Comed-K for member colleges will be based on performance in the qualifying examination (PUC or equivalent) and the common entrance test (CET) of the Government. "There is no question of ignoring CET, but counselling is proposed to be done by an independent neutral agency to ensure fair selection,'' he has said. Regarding tuition fee, Comed-K member-colleges have fixed the fees based on cost with a "small surplus for development, in keeping with the Supreme Court order", the spokesperson has said.
