It also decided to recommend re-distribution of the students to other colleges. The University would soon recommend to the All-India Council for Technical Education that approval for the Sakthi Engineering College, Chennakuppam in Kancheepuram and the J.A Institute of Engineering and Technology be withdrawn, said a university spokesman. Already, based on complaints from students and various quarters, the university sent show-cause notices to the colleges. The expert committees visited the institutions separately and found certain deficiencies. The committees made a second visit earlier this month to see whether the deficiencies had been removed. But still, according to university officials, the colleges lacked adequate laboratories, computer facilities, buildings and amenities for students, besides an efficient faculty.
