To dispute the Government claim that the DMK regime supplied only rotten rice to cardholders and to prove that it stocked fine quality rice for supply under the public distribution system, Mr Ponmudi, accompanied by the Villupuram Municipal Chairman, S.S.Panneerselvam, along with some partymen went to the godown on June 26, 2001 and verified the stocks. They informed the media about their visit to the godown. Mr. Suresh too had gone there. Showing samples taken from the godown, Mr. Ponmudi asked them to verify for themselves the rice quality.
