IED detonated, train derails

Guwahati June 20. Nine wagons of a goods train were derailed when suspected National Democratic Front of Bodoland militants blasted a portion of rail track in Assam's Kokarajhar district tonight, police said.

There was no report of any casualties, the police said.

The ultras detonated an improvised explosives device on the tracks near Sesapani under the Fakira Gaon police station at around 9.30 p.m. as the goods train, carrying cement, approached.

The train, which was going to Dharmanagar in Tripura, had 40 wagons of which nine got derailed.
