Letters to the Editor
Sir, When our Prime Minister extended the hand of friendship to Pakistan a few days ago, it was yet another positive beginning for peace in the ever-straining relations between the two countries. Both the countries have been moving forward since then and several confidence-building measures are being proposed. But these exercises will not last long unless a proper strategy is evolved. Whenever India has opened the doors of peace, Pakistan has always reacted with its back door policy of deception. High-level meetings and resumption of bus and flight services will not be the order of the day in our relations with the neighbour. Terrorism is the greatest scourge that the modern world is facing. It is time Pakistan stopped supporting terrorist activities in India, particularly Kashmir. V. Harish, Kozhikode, Kerala
