AITA Championship series boys' qualifying from today

Mysore June 22. The weather will have a major say in the prompt start of the AITA Championship Series 2003 under-18 boys and girls (singles & doubles) tournament, that is being conducted by the Vontikoppal Club, Mysore under the auspices of the AITA and KSLTA, which is scheduled to start at the Vontikoppal Club and Mysore Tennis Club courts from Monday with the boys under-18 qualifying rounds.

In the boys' section, only two rounds of qualifying matches have been scheduled to decide the eight qualifiers for the main draw while in the girls section there will be no qualifying rounds. In the boys' under-18 singles, S. Vijay Kumar (Kar), Vishal M. Krishnan (Kar), Nishendran (SL) and Vijay Siwach (Goa) have been given wild card entries to the main draw.

For the qualifying rounds in the boys' under-18 section, Nithish Natraj (TN), Suraj Bikkannavar (Kar), Ankit Patel (Mah), P.C. Vignesh (AP) and Manish Rao (Kar) have been seeded from one to five.

The qualifying round starts from 8 a.m. on June 23 and the tournament proper starts from June 25.
