The railway authorities are busy restoring the traffic connecting the Konkan route. They are also trying to restore traffic through the original track. Trains bound for Mangalore were terminated at Neeleswaram. They are the Chennai-Mangalore mail and the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Malabar Express. The traffic block in this route has also resulted in the termination of long distance trains in the Konkan route via Kasaraogd. The Kurla Express and Mangala Express were rerouted through the Shoranur route.
