A decision in this regard was taken following the recommendations made by an inspection committee, which was entrusted with the job of finding out the reality in the colleges. The colleges -- Sripathi degree college, Madanapalle (Chittoor district), R.S. Janardhana degree college for women, Cuddapah, Y.V. Nagi Reddy degree college, Rayachoti, and HM degree college, Rayachoti (all Cuddapah district) -- have been barred from making admissions to the first year degree course for 2003-04. As the SV arts and science degree college in Muthirevula (Chittoor district) did not obtain prior permission from the varsity for shifting the college to Chittoor town, it has not been permitted to make admissions. Similarly, CNR arts and science college, Piler (Chittoor district) was disaffiliated for the poor state of affairs in its science laboratory. According to an official communique issued by the Registrar, T. Siddiah, affiliation had been granted to colleges other than those mentioned above, however, only for those courses recommended by the commission. It may be noted that the varsity, some time ago, had cautioned students to check whether the colleges had been accorded permission to run the `particular courses' they were applying for.
