Plea to promote naturopathy

By Our Staff Reporter

THRISSUR JUNE 22. The Governmental's neglect of naturopathy, which has infinite potential for addressing the health problems of society, is a crime against people with limited resources, according the High Court judge, K.K. Narendran.

Delivering the `Prof. Utpalakshan Memorial lecture' organised by the All Kerala Nature Cure Federation at the Gandhiji Naturopathy Hospital here on Sunday, Mr. Narendran recalled that during the tenure of the previous UDF Government, he was asked to submit a report on the prospects of naturopathy.

``Accordingly I had submitted the report to the Government. But, later, when I enquired about its fate, the reply was that the very report was missing. Again we submitted a copy of the report to the Government. By then the Government had changed, and it did nothing to implement the report. When the UDF Government came back to power two years ago, the organisations like nature cure federation approached the Government requesting it to implement the report. There will be pro-naturopathy steps from the Governments only if strong public pressure is built up for that,'' Mr. Narendran said.
