Impostor robs youth at Kilpauk

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI JUNE 22. A conman, posing as a CBI officer, relieved a youth of Rs. 14,500 at Kilpauk today.

Police said Saravanan (21) of Amaravathy Nagar, Arumbakkam, was waiting at a bus stop near Kilpauk Medical College Hospital when the conman targeted him. Dressed in safari suit, he asked the youth to get into an autorickshaw as his movements were suspicious and he had to be taken to the CBI office at Arumbakkam. He then forced the victim to part with the money and dropped him off at Vepery.

It was only after enquiries at Arumbakkam about the location of the CBI office did the youth realise that he had been robbed. A complaint was lodged with the Kilpauk police.
