Police recovered five motorcycles from Lokesh.
Nabbed
Police nabbed a man for stealing mobile phones and ``currency'' cards from a shop. His name was given as Ravi (28), a resident of Bank Colony. He was caught trying to sell the stolen ``currency'' cards to passers-by on the 50 ft Road in Hanumanthnagar, police said.
Sentenced
A man accused of torturing his wife for dowry was sentenced to four years imprisonment by the II Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Friday. Ahmed Pasha, a resident of Banashankari, allegedly harassed his wife, Mubeen Taj, after their marriage in February 1998, police said. Ms. Taj's parents reportedly gave Ahmed Pasha Rs.1.5 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs.50,000 at the time of the marriage. A few months after the marriage, Ms. Taj had lodged a complaint with the Siddapura Police that she was being harassed for dowry.
Purse returned
A purse with Rs.20,000 in cash was returned to the Police Commissioner here on Saturday. Police said the purse was found in Jalahalli by Paheem Azeem Mohammed, Gazal Shahi, Varun and Samanth Reddy, trainees in the CRL Division of BEL. The owner of the purse may contact the Public Relations Officer at the Commissioner's Office.
Arrested
On Saturday, Commercial Street Police arrested Rizwan (20), a resident of DK Road, Shivajinagar, and recovered a motorcycle, two scooters and a car. Rizwan, who was a mechanic, allegedly sold parts of the stolen vehicles, police said. The vehicles were stolen from Commercial Street, High Grounds, DJ Halli and Kengeri.
Recovered
The same day, Jeevan Bhima Nagar Police recovered two motorcycles from Imran (21), a resident of Motappana Palya, Indiranagar.
Nabbed
Devarajeevanahalli Police nabbed two burglars on Saturday and recovered stolen valuables worth Rs.13 lakhs. The names of the arrested were given as Babujan (26), a resident of KG Halli, and Ravi (25) from Vinayaka Nagar, Wilson Garden. Police said the arrest helped them solve 10 burglary cases. The two were history-sheeters. They were caught trying to break into a house in MM Layout. They had stolen valuables from houses in DJ Halli, Wilson Garden, Shivajinagar, KG Halli and Siddapura, police said.
