BSP wins bypoll

LUCKNOW JUNE 24. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today won the Chiraigaon Assembly by-election. The seat had fallen vacant following the death of the Samajwadi Party MLA, Ramjit Rajbhar. The BSP nominee, Virendra Singh, defeated Anil Rajbhar of the SP by 3,512 votes. Chiraigaon is the second Assembly seat the BSP has wrested from the Samajwadi Party since the last Assembly elections.
