Disproportionate assets case against Badal

CHANDIGARH JUNE 26. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against the former Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal, for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.Though no details of the cas tions had proceeded on various leads regarding the ``acts of commission and omission by Mr. Badal as Chief Minister'' in the previous regime, the formal case was registered on Tuesday at the Police Station Flying Squad-I, in Mohali near here. Sources said the Vigilance Bureau was able to establish certain links and collected ``concrete evidence'' after investigating the alleged deals of Badal family with various individuals, including two NRIs, Narottam Singh Dhillon, who is in custody and the owner of Wimpys International, K.S. Sidhu. Five of Wimpys employees were recently arrested by Vigilance Bureau from Delhi
