The Appan Menon Memorial Trust invites proposals from professional journalists for the Appan Menon Memorial Award for 2004. The Award, which consists of a grant of Rs. 1 lakh, is given each year to a professional journalist working in the area of world affairs or development news with an Indian perspective. Journalists from any media with three to five years experience can apply with a brief project proposal (1,000 words); a brief account of the proposed use of the grant; curriculum vitae and one letter of reference; and samples of recent work. The awardee will be selected by an eminent jury and the grant will be made in September 2003.
