' Johnson and Johnson MD among 5 Chargesheeted

New Delhi June 27. The CBI today filed a chargesheet against five top officials of Johnson and Johnson Company Limited, including its Managing Director, M.K. Ambwani, for allegedly evading central excise and cheating the public to the tune of Rs. 45.33 crores, a spokesman of the investigating agency said here.

The chargesheet was filed in a designated court of Mumbai against the officials for allegedly entering into a `criminal conspiracy' and `misleading' the Government by providing wrong information to get price exemption on some scheduled drugs, the spokesman said.

According to the CBI chargesheet, Johnson and Johnson's four investment companies allegedly floated a small scale unit, NR Jet Enterprises and `cheated' the Government by violating the conditions of the Drugs (Price Control) Order seeking price exemption on the basis of `false and misleading declaration'. — PTI
