Educational assistance for BC, MBC students

CHENNAI JUNE 27. Applications for renewal of name to avail of the educational assistance for the BC, the MBC and the denotified communities have to be made with suitable documents at the Chennai District Backward and Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Officer, Singara Velar Maligai, 32, Rajaji Salai, George Town.

A press release from the Chennai Collectorate has said the Government extended its provision of benefits to students from standard VI up to research scholars belonging to the specific communities for the year 2003-04 also.

The aid includes reimbursement for payment of exam fees to the Directorate of Government Examination, provision to obtain textbooks for school students free of cost at the College Students Hostel, Hostel Road, Tirunagar I Main Road, Vadapalani, grant to schools from Rs. 200 to Rs. 500 for students studying English from classes VI to XII and concessions for students taking up technical and professional courses. The requisition for arts and science courses should be given before July 16, for renewal of names of students undertaking three year degree and technical diploma courses should be done by July 31 and professional courses before August 15.
