Complaint of kidnap keeps police on tenterhooks

CHENNAI JUNE 27. A complaint that a man was kidnapped from Spur Tank Road in Chetpet kept police on tenterhooks. Sources said the police control received a call that a man was kidnapped by a group of persons travelling in a red colour Maruti car at around 11.30 p.m. and that a watchman was witness to this.

A few minutes later, a group of persons, travelling in a Lancer car had spoken to the watchman, who reportedly narrated the incident to him.

Later in the evening, police sources confirmed that the incident had taken place, but added that there were no clues to the identity of the kidnapped person.
