Star attraction takes them away from home

By D. Radhakrishnan

Udhagamandalam June 30. Three school girls, who went missing from here 10 days ago, were today handed over to their parents by the police. The girls, studying in class X of a higher secondary school on Old Garden Road here, suddenly "disappeared." Though they maintained telephonic contact with their families and the school, the girls did not reveal their whereabouts.

A search was initiated by the Udhagamandalam town police in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur and Mettupalayam.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that one of the girls was a fanatic admirer of a leading Tamil actor and that her friends were also his fans. A police team was sent to Chennai and it was found that the girls had gone to the film star's house to have photographs taken with him.
