Air quality professionals in Delhi

By Our Staff Correspondent

NEW DELHI JULY 7. A delegation of Indonesian air quality professionals arrived here today to study Delhi's success in air pollution mitigation, particularly the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) programme implementation. The eight-member team includes representatives from the "Partnership for Clean Air'', an NGO, the Indonesian Ministries of Environment, Transport and Communication, Energy and Mineral Resources, the Environment Department of Jakarta, and key individuals from private sectors, a U.S. Embassy press release said.

The group will study India's experience with the technical and financial feasibility of CNG and liquid propane gas (LPG) alternatives for buses, taxis and three-wheelers.
