Economy may grow

MUMBAI JULY 11. Following the prospect of healthy recovery in the agricultural sector, the Indian economy is expected to grow at 6.5 per cent in the fiscal 2003-04, the Centre For Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) said today. ``In spite of the delay in rain and a sluggish growth in the sowing activities in June, the farm sector is expected to grow at 7.5 per cent in 2003-04, while the real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is projected at 6.5 per cent as against 4.3 per cent in 2002-03." — PTI
