RJD leader shot at

Muzaffarpur (Bihar) July 13. A leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Arjun Rai, who had unsuccessfully contested the Auarai Assembly seat in the last general elections, was critically wounded when unidentified persons shot at him at Balughat near here today, police said.

He was fired at from close range by some gunmen when he was sitting in a telephone booth, the District Superintendent of Police, R.K. Singh told PTI over phone. Mr. Rai, who was hit by six bullets, is battling for life at a private nursing home.
