Over two lakh apply for ration cards

CHITTOOR JULY 14. In all, 4.89 lakh petitions were received during the 19th round of Janmabhoomi programme in the district.

Of the total representations received during gram sabhas, 2.33 lakh were for ration cards. It was following by 35,155 applications for house-site pattas, 2,363 for pattadar pass books and 1,414 for title deeds. The number of applications received for ration cards and house sites was more than the target fixed for the district, according to official sources.

Seed distribution

The district Collector, Sai Prasad, on Monday said that the process of groundnut seed distribution was in progress in the district.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that seed was being distributed through 25 counters opened at different places in the district. Another 50,000 tonnes of groundnut seed was kept ready for distribution.
