Three properties demolished

HYDERABAD July 14. The Town Planning personnel of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad on Monday demolished three properties from to Chatrinaka Police Station and later paid Rs. 8,42,434 as structural compensation to the owners.

According to K. Srinivas Rao, City Planner, who supervised the demolition being taken up as part of the road-widening project, the properties belonged to Alia Begum, Rukminibai and P. Anjamma. The Lal Darwaza-Chatrinaka road is to be widened to 50 feet. Mr. Rao said about 93 sq yards of the hotel, about 80 per cent, belonging to Alia Begum near Chatrinaka Police Station, was affected in the demolition. She was given a cheque for Rs. 2,28,748 as compensation. In the second demolition, the residence of Rukminibai was affected. She received Rs.51,152 as compensation.

The Town Planning staff also pulled down 68 sq yards of the house of Anjamma. Her share of the compensation was Rs. 5,62,534.
