Changes in traffic movement at Basheerbagh

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD July 14. The Hyderabad Traffic Police are introducing changes in the flow of traffic Basheerbagh crossroads. The new rules would come into force from Tuesday, the Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic), D.T. Nayak, told a press conference here today.

Right turn is banned at Basheerbagh crossroads for all vehicles coming from both Liberty and Babu Jagjivanram statue. Vehicles coming from Liberty towards the old Police Control Room (PCR) can take a U-turn in front of the Hyderabad Police Commissioner's office. Vehicles coming from the old PCR and proceeding towards Babu Jagjivanram statue can also take a U-turn in front of the Police Commissioner's office. Vehicles proceeding from Babu Jagjivanram statue to Liberty and vice versa would take the fly-over route. Vehicles going from BJR statue side to Hyderguda or King Kothi can either proceed via Public Gardens and the old PCR or move up to Basheerbagh crossroads and take a U-turn at Ayakar Bhavan. Mr. Nayak hoped that the restrictions would facilitate free flow of traffic at the Basheerbagh crossroads and reduce traffic jams.
