APCC chief tenders apology

By Our Legal Correspondent

HYDERABAD JULY 17. The APCC president, M. Satyanarayana Rao, today appeared before a Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court and tendered an apology for commenting on a pending case involving the Minister for Housing, P. Ramasubba Reddy, thus inviting its contempt.

The Bench, comprising Justices Bilal Nazki and K.C.Bhanu, after hearing arguments in the contempt cases, reserved the matter for judgment.

Mr. Rao was reported as having said that the case in which Mr. Reddy was the main accused in the alleged murder of two Congress workers at Shadnagar bus stand was transferred from Mahbubnagar district to Hyderabad for the convenience of the Minister. He later claimed that newsmen did not give a correct report of the press conference.
