Ceasefire with NSCN(I-M) extended

NEW DELHI JULY 17. The ceasefire between the Centre and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak-Muivah), now in force for the sixth year, is being extended by another year from the month-end, sources said here today.

The extension of ceasefire, which is likely to strengthen the Nagaland peace process, figured during discussions held at Bangkok over the past three days between the NSCN(I-M) leadership and the Centre's emissary, K. Padmanabhaiah and the Intelligence Bureau Director, K.P. Singh, sources said.
