Letters to the Editor
Sir, The frustration evident among the U.S. soldiers in Iraq is not unexpected. What is unexpected, though, is the intensity of the frustration. The U.S. is always ahead in giving high-intensity moral statements and espousing power-packed Wilsonian ideas. The soldiers feel they have been betrayed regarding the nature of the war and the duration of occupation. Whatever the facts or counter-facts, one thing is clear: the U.S. is being drained of its morale. Sukriti Singh, Delhi
