The decision was taken at a meeting at the Prime Minister's residence this evening after which the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Ravi Shankar Prasad, said efforts would be made to make CAS as "consumer-friendly" as possible. The Government had decided to defer CAS from July 15 to September 1, and go in for a zone-wise introduction in the four cities earlier this month. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, the Law Minister, Arun Jaitley, the BJP president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, and leaders from Delhi, V.K. Malhotra and Madan Lal Khurana. This was the fourth meeting at the Prime Minister's residence on CAS in recent weeks.
